For my birthday last month (the big 2-0!) my best friend
Josie took me to the Haymarket Hotel for afternoon tea, complete with
champagne, scones and more cakes than you could shake a stick at!

Although fairly expensive (including the champers it came to
almost £30 each – I know, I have the best friend ever) considering how much
food you get, not to mention how yummy it is, I’d say it was worth every penny.
I definitely had to loosen my belt a few notches afterwards!
the gorgeous @josiestoker with our tea!
The Haymarket Hotel itself is also gorgeous. Although you’re
right by Picadilly Circus, you can’t hear any of the craziness of the West End
– though, with a window seat, you can certainly have a little perve on the
tourists wandering by! There was a good mix of people in the restaurant itself,
from women on a girly day out in London to a middle aged man with a
suspiciously young girlfriend… The staff were friendly and attentive but didn’t
hover too much; altogether, the perfect atmosphere!
me, looking a bit embarrassed blowing out my lonely candle!
Since we were celebrating a (very) special occasion, Josie
had called ahead and booked a cake and candle for me! Which was also delicious,
by the way. (The cake, not the candle – I would imagine…)
So there you have it! A gorgeous space right in the centre
of theatre land to escape the hustle and bustle, chill out and stuff your
faces! I highly recommend it.
Love,
Blaise
